Mirroring is often employed for disaster recovery solutions and there are two types of mirroring with most solutions: Asychronous mirroring - sends data packets ahead of acknowledgement from the secondary storage device, performing fast mirroring Synchronous mirroring - doesn't send data until the secondary storage device acknowledges the additional packets of data.
